From Buncombe County Schools:
“Schools serve the community in countless ways, and partnerships with nonprofits and other agencies make that service even stronger.
On Wednesday, representatives of Mountain Area Workforce Development Board (MAWDB) handed out helpful employment information to families during the BCS Nutrition Department’s Summer Meals service time.
“We’re here to reach people who might be having employment disruptions because of COVID-19,” said Mr. Nathan Ramsey, the board’s director. “We’re sharing information about the education, training, and career development opportunities available through their local NC Works career center.”
MAWDB partners with community colleges, private businesses, public school systems, and other local agencies to “create successful businesses and citizens,” according to the board’s website.
Buncombe County Schools is proud to partner with MAWDB and other organizations that are dedicated to helping students and families create a better tomorrow.”
