The Youth Programs of the Workforce Development Board include education and training opportunities for Youth ages 16-24.
- Youth On-The-Job Training – Prepares youth for a variety of careers by working with local employers to provide training and the critical skills necessary to succeed in today’s job market. Employers can apply for reimbursement of training costs for approved OJT contracts.
- Youth Education and Training – Provides financial assistance to youth who would like to continue their education in an approved field. Assistance is available for both degree and certificate programs for youth who meet eligibility criteria.
The NC Works Career Center also offers a variety of services to youth, including access to GED classes and testing, basic skills assessments and career interest surveys. All workshops, such as resume writing and interviewing, are also available to youth.
