Incumbent Workforce Grants

Businesses that have been in operation in North Carolina for at least one year are eligible to apply for Incumbent Workforce Training Grants. 

• Businesses can apply for amounts up to $37,500 (the lifetime limit is $50,000 for a business).
• Within the guidelines businesses are free to choose the type of training, the training provider, the schedule for training courses/events and the location of the training.
• Consultation with the Mtn. Area Workforce Board Business Representative (828.250.4760) is required prior to the submission of a grant application.
• Grant applications go through a two stage, competitive, review process - the final decision on funding will be received about six weeks after the application is submitted.
